How we take care of water cleanliness at Aquapalace Prague

Cleanliness, water quality, and visitor safety are our top priorities

Water quality monitoring goes through several stages: first mechanical cleaning with sand filters, then treatment with UV lamps, ozonation, and finally chlorination.

UV Lamps

  • Highly effective photochemical disinfection without altering the organoleptic properties of the water.
  • Reduces bound chlorine, destroys bacteria, viruses, and microorganisms, and prevents their regrowth.
  • Acts locally at the point of installation.
  • UV lamps are installed on all pool circuits.

Ozonation

  • Generated by electric discharges.
  • Destroys bacteria and viruses effectively.
  • Takes place in a reactor and is then neutralized by an activated carbon destructor.
  • The conversion of ozone into oxygen is accelerated by the action of chlorine atoms.

Chlorination

  • Highly effective and the most commonly used method of disinfection.
  • We distinguish between free and bound chlorine.
  • Provides long-lasting disinfecting effect.
  • Reliably destroys bacteria.

Water Quality Control

Water quality is continuously monitored in compliance with Decree 238/2011. Every 4 hours during operation, staff perform regular tests: measuring temperature, pH, free and bound chlorine. In addition, every 14 days laboratory samples are taken from all pools for microbiological testing and precise laboratory measurements of other parameters. The results are forwarded to the Regional Public Health Authority (KHS).
