HOW TO STAY IN SAUNA IN HEALTHY WAY
Reserve at least two hours for your stay in sauna. You will need a sheet or a large towel to underlay your body, a towel, slippers and soap or shampoo.To make it sense, you should come to sauna at least once in a week. The beginners are recommended to take shorter visits in sauna.
Basic Rules for the Stay in Sauna
- Do not come to sauna when hungry or at the contrary with full stomach.
- To make your stay in sauna undisturbed and comfortable we recommend you to go to the toilet before.
- Do not forget to take a shower before your first entrance into the heating cabin.
- Wipe your body well, because dry skin sweats quicker.
- Perspiration is also enhanced by a warm bath of feet before the actual stay in sauna Kneipp bath.
- Do not wear swimming suit in sauna.
- Underlay the whole body including feet with sheet or large towel.
- The stay in sauna should be short but effective repose on the middle or top bench for the maximum of 15 minutes.
- It is inadvisable to sit on a chair in sauna due to considerable differences in temperatures of your feet and head, which could cause dizziness or headaches. You will sense even warmth if reposed horizontally. It is recommended to spend the last two minutes in sauna sitting, to adapt your blood circulation to the upright position and prevent abrupt accumulation of blood in legs and feet.
- You can breathe with nose or with nose and mouth combined. If you feel the air burning your nose, cover the nose and mouth with your hand palm. Breathe with normal frequency as usual.
- While sweating, you can smoothly wipe or rub your body. It helps to open the skin pores and to wash away toxic substances.
- Leave sauna after spending the recommended time in the cabin or when feeling burning of auricles, nose apex or nipples.
- The most advisable way of cooling down is water pouring with a hose. You can also use showers. Before immersing into the cooling pool take always a shower to rinse off the sweat. Beware of cooling down in the pool if you have high blood-pressure problems. Cooling in the pool should be carried out by slow and gradual immersion, not by jumping in. If possible, cool your body including your head or at least your nape. We recommend to go to the fresh air after your stay in sauna, as your body needs a lot of oxygen afterwards.
- Repeat the heat-cold procedure at least three times.
- You can take a warm bath of feet in conclusion of your cooling procedure. It will warm up your whole body up to the head.
- Repetition of the action of cold water strengthen ups the blood vessels and enhances resistance of your organism.
- The final stage of relaxation is not only a pleasant conclusion of the sauna ritual but supports your body recovery at the same time. Do not forget to supply liquids to your body suitable drinks include cold tee, mineral waters or selected isotonic drinks.
- It is also recommended to go to solarium in between the sauna procedures.
- A stay in sauna will relax pleasantly your body before massaging or at the contrary go to sauna after being massaged. .
- If you spent your time in sauna in the proper way, you will feel nicely relaxed and tired. The beneficial effects of sauna are impaired by alcohol consumption or smoking.
